9:30 pm - Day 6 (aurë enquë)
|
I reached the small town of "Orontië". This town is situated near the base of a small mountain range. The town is very young. The cataclysm caused a path to be formed between the mountains that is walkable...however very dangerous. I need to go through in order to make it in time for the Yomenië at Willow's.
The town is here mostly to sell supplies and ale to travelers such as myself. I will spend the night here, and then travel onward very early in the morning.

11:03 am - Day 5 (aurë lempë)
|
I reached Morë Taurë earlier today. These woods are unusually dark all the time. I decided to take a longer route around the woods. I followed a river to the northwest.
I realized I have forgotton to eat recently. I decided to do some quick fishing. I can not swim, so I made sure to find a not deep part of the river.
I walked out across the rocks took out my short sword "Torco Sicil". I found it years ago after those trolls attacked me. It was one of my only possessions for a while.
When I saw a group of Alta Hála swim by, I took a quick stab. After a few tries, I was able to get two.
I built a small fire beside the river and cooked.
The river began to go more northwards. I made sure I kept the river on my left side and followed it for many more miles till I passed Morë Taurë.
I believe there is a town much further north. I am hoping to reach it by the end of the day tomorrow.
~MUNDANE NOTE ~ lempë - five Morë - black. "-dor" ending meands place... Mordor (hmm....) Torco - troll. (Orco means Orc) Sicil - knife. (a troll sized knife is a Gelf size shortsword :)) Alta - large. Hála - fish.

10:40 pm - Day 4 (aurë canta)
|
Today, I decided to spend much of the day with some fellow musicians. One of my teachers. A female elf named Hloni Tári. I had arrived just in time for her drummer Yomenië. Playing all day helped to bring my spirits up.
I traveled at night without worries. These lands are still Eldanor. Tomorrow is where I begin to travel unfamiliar lands.
~ MUNDANE NOTE ~ hloni - Means "sounds" tári - Means "Queen" Yomenië - Means "meeting/gathering" Eldanor still means "Elvenland" :) Next time you're listening to music, you can count: minë, atta, neldë, canta :)

12:42 pm - Day 3 (aurë neldë)
|
Getting to the other side of the wood took me more often than planned. On the end of the path was a sign pointing into the wood. I could only make out 2 of the words... "Eldanor...Eldadili"
After a short walk across a clearing, I found a group of boys practicing swordfighting. They looked quite surprised to see me come out of the wood. I guess they have always been told not to go there.
There were some ruins about. Broken stairs and what looked like what used to be a small stage. Perhaps it used to be a small theatre.
I asked the boys if they would like to practice with me. This one energetic boy came foward and handed me a practice sword. I asked him for another... and he gave me a strange look.
He did not do well verse me when I used two swords. I guess they had not encountered it yet in their training. He was very determined though and adapted quickly. He will be a great swordsman one day.
I still need to find out how to get a message to Amnesia. Mirlindor is far south from where most of my friends are. I will head west for a bit more. Then start heading northward.
~ MUNDAIN NOTE ~ Numbers: 1, 2, 3: Minë, Atta, Neldë
"Elda" means "Elf" "Atan" means "(mortal) Man" "Nauco" means "Dwarf"
The ending "dil" can be used to mean "friend": Eldadil means "Elf friend" The ending "nor" can be used to mean "land": Eldanor means "Elven land" "i" is used for plurals on most words ending in consonants.

12:20 pm - Day 2 (aurë atta)
|
I've decided to travel mostly northwest. Today I am traveling through Tië Taurë to the west of my village. I've walked through this woods hundreds of times. The people of Mirlindor can pass through it quite easily...but for those unfriendly to us... they are less fortunate...
When I was a boy, they told me a great spell was cast very long ago. Protecting our village and the surrounding area. The trees are our protectors. Perhaps this is why I find myself talking to Driads. I feel safe around them.
I am not exactly sure how I am supposed to find or contact Amnesia. I am going to seek a friend for help. Perhaps I can find one of the other fairies I know.
~ MUNDANE NOTE ~ Tië is Quenya for "Path" Taurë means "great wood" Aurë means "day" Atta means "two"

9:42 am - Day 1
|
I realized something after the gather the other night... I do not know anything about my family. If I have brothers and sisters... Who my parents were..are?
When I was younger... just a boy... the elders of Mirlindor found me in the middle of the village. I seemed quite lost... I could not remember how I arrived there. I still do not know. When they asked me my name, I assume I mumbled something like Gelf.
This is why I have no last name. Well... none that I know of.
So I was just simply Gelf. I guess after 100 years or so, you forget about these kind of things, and it takes others talking of their past to make you remember that you forgot...
I have decided to journey to visit the fairy "Amnesia". She has the ability to make people remember as well as forget.
My journey starts in Mirlindor... I will travel mostly by foot across E'Atara.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ MUNDANE NOTE ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mirlindor" is my home village. "Mir" is an old elven word/prefix for "Sea/River". "Lin" means "Music". "Dor" means "Place". JRR Tolkien uses "Dor" to mean place. For instance. "More" is the elvish word for "Black". So Moredor would mean "Black place" or "place of blackness".
2:18 am - Visitors...
|
|
Regyt and Lady Daphnie visited me tonight at 1am. They were stopping by a local tavern to enjoy some music. Lady Daphnie was unfamiliar with mead, so Regyt thought best to bring her by. I had them sample some of my newer brews. They still need time to be perfect. I've found my batches over the past few months need aging more than before. The end results are much better though... I also did a bit of swordfighting. Ladies should not walk about the night without the skills to defend themselves... A lovely, but short visit... Sleep time for this elf now...
4:11 pm - Mead and Swords
|
The mead is set aside to brew. A lovely clove batch. My many thanks to the assistance of Regyt, Andrew servant of the penguin, and Nathanial.
After the brewing, I showed my new friends some beginner sword fighting. I remember when Satyir showed me how to swordfight some years ago now.
I always fight with 2 weapons when possible. I usually use a sword I purchased at faire, and the troll-blade I found years ago. The blade belonged to one of the trolls that ambushed me. They took all my other possessions. Nothing is like the look in their eyes when they see me draw it and use it against them...
My new friends learned quite quickly. Perhaps I can bring them on a small quest sometime.
I Am A: Neutral Good Elf Bard Ranger
Alignment: Neutral Good characters believe in the power of good above all else. They will work to make the world a better place, and will do whatever is necessary to bring that about, whether it goes for or against whatever is considered 'normal'.
Race: Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.
Primary Class: Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.
Secondary Class: Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.
Deity: Oghma is the Neutral Good god of knowledge and invention. He is also known as the Binder of What is Known, and is the Patron of Bards. His followers believe that knowledge reigns supreme, and is the basis for everything else that is done. They wear white shirts and pants, with a black and gold braided vest, and a small, box-like hat. All priests of Oghma are known as Loremasters. Oghma's symbol is a scroll.
3:45 pm - Mead
|
I have returned from my visit with Kyara. I helped her to make a "Lemon-Mint" mead. The recipe she used is as follows: Zest from 4 lemons... juice from 3 lemons... mint-leaves... 15lbs of honey... water.. and of course yeast.
My return trip was uneventful. I stopped at a small market to get honey for a brew I am going to make tomorrow. When I was at the market, two travelers from across the great sea asked me "what does one do with 15 pounds of mead." I replied, "throw great parties.."
I will be making my "Tribute" batch of mead. This batch of course being a tribute to Satyir the Chaotic, and Fiona Tammerdale. Also a simple recipe. 15 lbs of honey... a handful of cloves (fiona's contribution)... damiana (Satyir's contribution). Stir.. water.. yeast..
Tonight, I may venture southward with my Mandolin. I have a friend (not native to E'Atara) who I am trying to track down. Hopefully I will encounter him.
3:47 pm - Hero
|
Today I am traveling to Crystalmist to visit Kyara, baronness of Forsythia. We have not yet exchanged yule time gifts.
I spend most of my time traveling. I enjoy visiting my friends. I travel mostly by foot. There have been times where I offered my fine mead in exchange for passage down a river. I even offered protection to some traders who run the waters near my home town of Mirlindor.
I have not been home for quite some time now. They treat me as somewhat of a hero there now after the troll raid about a year ago...
I wanted to visit home, so I asked some friends of mine for assistance. One of them had the ability to open gateways with this strange emerald he wore about his neck. He can only open gates to physical gates. Like an archway or doorway. The gateway he opened left us at a iron (i believe) gate that was at the forefront of a strange circle a bit north of Mirlindor.
I heard shouting and conflict in the distance. I could see fires about my small town, I could tell a battle was in progress. I wanted to rush into the fight... my towns folk are craftsmen and traders. No fighters or users of magic.
One of my friends with me was an herbalist. He picked some plants from the gate/circle area we landed in, and said, "this is to give you endurance for the fight". I asked him if he could make me something for quickness as well... He gathered some more plants from the gate/circle area... and gave me it with this warning... "you must keep your wits about you... mixing is very unpredictable..."
I ran to my village... I saw Trolls... tons of them.. everywhere... My poor people... all of them defenseless...
I drew both of my swords... cried out... and started the slaughter. I took on anything, no matter what the size. I was even quicker than usual, and I felt as though I would never tire...
When I was done... I passed out... I woke up a few days later. My hair was gray... I had aged several of hundreds of years within hours...
A few weeks later, I ran into Cleanana the water fairy at a gathering, and she gave me a potion to clean me of the ill affects.
Strange though how magic I take in has such exaggerated effects on me...
